Yesterday, in a brand new install of the DNN Forum module I created a few groups and forums and a single thread in one of them, read it with a test user and then just left it there. This morning this error showed up, without doing anything else than hitting refresh:

A critical error has occurred.
A control cannot modify its parents' control collections.

And these are the relevant details from the log:

I might have found the issue. I had two forum with the same name but were in different groups. To streamline the organization I moved the second one to the same group as the first. It works fine locally but for some reason it does not work on a public URL. I just deleted the second forum from the group leaving only the first forum and the public site forum works again.

No other modules were in the same page.
Local and public versions are identical and connected to the same DB.
