DNN 4.00.2
I have skinned a site in VS2005, set everything up and used "Build>Publish Web Site."  Copied the 'published' site directory to my IIS6 webserver.  Setup the site in IIS6 etc., the site works. (somewhat)

I noticed that the 'Terms of Use' and the 'Privacy Statement' were blank.  I logged into the site as 'admin' and tried to go to the 'Languages' to see if everything was blank.
I get the message with the red exclamation point "an error occured."

I have completed these steps for three sites, and they all encounter the same issue.

What am I missing?  Is there a special way you have to deploy DNN to a webserver?'

Thanks,
ChasDW

Additional Info:
It appears that the 'Admin' menu functionality has been broken, not just "Languages."  I tried to go look at the log files and get the same thing.

Please HELP!

Looking around, I have found that when you 'publish' a website with VS2K5 it tags stuff onto the end of the name of the dll's.  Could this be the issue???

IE: App_Web_authenticationsettings.ascx.189764e5.dll
      App_Web_bulkemail.ascx.daf1d32.dll
      App_Web_hostsettings.ascx.80396602.dll

etc...

Chas, on a VS issue... you're likely to get more eyes on it in the Extend It! forum... I'm not doing core work in VS2005 so can't definitively answer your question, but DNN pushes the envelope on it in terms of application architecture.  I suspect that using the Publish function in VS does not work... I'm sure that the issue is files left behind.  The normal deploy situation for DNN is usually a simple FTP push.

Cheers
