I have a C# version of the latest release of the full VB.NET release of DNN v4.7 and I will post it if the Admins think that it would benefit the rest of the group.

And I solved my earlier problems about inheritance issues. I had to make a Web Application Project for my C# converter to kick in; and that was what was causing the problems. This new C# version brought up the home page for me and seems to work great.

Thanks

This would be an interesting item to share.  I personally am not really sure why an actual full C# version would be needed, but still it is a good resource.

Hmm - I highly doubt the core could/would post it as it would imply they are endorsing it (without testing etc.), and would have to field a lot of support calls for it - you may be better off putting it on a site and announcing the link here.

Please take care of the copyright, the core does not allow to use DotNetNuke as a Name for a download. Please contact Shaun Walker for details.

maybe i am stupid, but can someone please explain to me why on earth it would be necessary to create a C# version of DotNetNuke?

Will it run faster? If so... why? (There have been previous attempts to create C# versions, and they claimed to be faster, however, they applied "optimizations" which would render dnn useless in a lot of scenario's)

Correct me if i am wrong, but in the end, everything gets compiled to MSIL...

Also.. for those of you who missed this year old, but stil valid, post by Shaun Walker, please have a look here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/18782/scope/posts/Default.aspx

PS: Sebastian is right, please be aware that DotNetNuke is a trademarked name, you are not allowed to offer an alternative version of DNN with anything like DotNetNuke or DNN in the name. Please, also read Shauns blogpost on the DNN Trademark: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1450/Default.aspx
