I keep getting. "aspnet_wp.exe could not be started/aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched".  This is an XP SP2 system with SQLserver 2005.

All permissions for me, ASPNET, IUSER, IWAM, Network Services are all set for full access on the virtual directory and windows/microsoft.net.

So what am I missing?

Further information:

According to the .NET Framework 2.0 configuration display, these are the connection strings:

     LocalSqlServer   data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true

     SiteSqlServer  data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true

And the two related event log entries are:

Event Type: Error

Event Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0

Event Category: None

Event ID: 1007

Date: 2/13/2006

Time: 5:47:20 AM

User: N/A

Computer: VGC6125

Description:

aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username and/or password supplied in the processModel section of the config file are invalid.

Event Type: Error

Event Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0

Event Category: None

Event ID: 1084

Date: 2/13/2006

Time: 5:47:20 AM

User: N/A

Computer: VGC6125

Description:

aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for the failure is 800700CB. This error can be caused when the worker process account has insufficient rights to read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the configured account.

When you seach MS Knowlege Base with "800700CB" the results refer to Access databases.

Is it possible that the DotNetNuke 4.02 install config is not recognizing the fact that I have SQL Server 2005 installed, so it is trying to do a SQL Express configuration?  That would go a long way in explaining some of the "unable to connect" issues.

You have asked me to ask specific questions.  I have but no response.
