Okay, I've ran around in circles far too long.  I've read the DNN for Dummies, I've read the forums and watched the video's, I still can't get an uploaded skin to work.

As "Host", "Host Settings", "upload skin & container" - using a package from OSWD (suggested site).  Install shows no errors.

When I go into either Host or Admin, site settings or skins, the skin and container name are in the drop down list.  But, when I select them, there is no skin or container to select.....

Anyone have an idea?

Does it have any reference anywhere to the fact you need to make these into skins.  They are just designs - you're expected to know how to skin them. OSWD just provides the inspiration..

You have to add the tokens for it to be seen.

Did the book mention this site?  http://www.dnnskins.com This site has had free skins for the newcomer to download and install since 2002.

I've recently updated this site which has over 50 free skins for the dnn community to preview and download. Yes you have to register - I pay for bandwidth and this is self funded to ensure that peopel coming into the DNN environment have something to start with and hopefull inspire them to keep using this great product.

NOT ONE REFERENCE - ANYWHERE, that "anything" needs to be done to the designs!!!  Now that's frustrating.  Although, in fairness, I think it's all about terminology.  I saw that the "templates" were ready for download and installation. 

When I uploaded them, they created a directory and even showed that they loaded skin object tokens...  So, I thought I was home free...

The book does not mention your site.  The site that it does list, is no longer valid.

I appreciate your referral to your site and I'm going to try a free design to see how that goes.  If it's as smooth as I'm expecting, you will be first on my list when I'm ready to fine tune the visuals of the site.  This will be "another" great experiement.
