I built a site with the url www.somedomain.com, and now that the site is finished, I want it to go to www.realdomain.com  The problem is that even though I added the new domain in the urls, a lot of links are still pointing to the old one.  I think that the main link is still the somedomain one, Is there a way to make the realdomain the main link, and will it change the old links to the new one?  Or do they have to all be changed individually?

Thx

The first thing that you need to do is change the alias of the portal in the Site Settings.  If I remember correctly, you need to be logged in as a "host" to do this.

Then, you can re-write the URL from incoming traffic by adding the following to your SiteUrls.config file.

    <!--
    Custom Rewrite for old domain
    -->
    <RewriterRule>
      <LookFor>.*(\w*\.somedomain\.com)(.*)/TabId/(\d+)(.*)Default.aspx.*</LookFor>
      <SendTo>http://www.realdomain.com$2/tabid/$3$4Default.aspx</SendTo>
    </RewriterRule>

I freehanded this, so there might be a quirk with the RegEx expression.

I forgot to tell you to do something else.  Once you have added the new alias, return to the site and login as a host again using the new domain name.  Then go and remove the old alias.
