We have decided to use DNN as an internal application framework (Yeehaw!). Now the fun part is determining how to wrap our build/release process around it. Since there is obviously a database involved I need to determine the best method of version controlling the data. Typically, we snapshot the data using RedGate tools and then check in the Deltas between releases.

We develop using several environments: Dev, Test, Staging, Production.

Has anyone come up with a "best practice" for this type of process where DNN is involved?

As long as we 'install' one instance of the database, then back up and install that copy into the different invironments, should we be able to  perform a data diff between envioronments to migrate out data? Again, we typically use Red-Gate DataCompare product to do this.

Thanks,

Mike
