I am using DNN 3.3.7. In Home page, by mistake I added the 'user account' module. If I go to my home page, it will be displayed and user account module has the phrase 'not authorised to edit this user'. If I log into as a user or admin or host, it is redirected to Manage Profile page instead of Home page. Except home page, I am getting all pages. I think that user module is making problem at home page. I need to remove that module from my home page. But I couldnt access to edit my home page. Could you please tell me how can i remove that user account module from my home page.

Dear John,

Thanks for your info.

But I couldnt find any option to switch to Design mode.

Only I have seen the option 'Preview' in that loation (Page Functions).

Could you please guide me to sort out my problem?

Sounds like you have an earlier version of DNN before the Design mode was added.

If you can still sign into your site and create a page, make a new one "Home2" then use the 'add existing module' function to copy modules from your main homepage to the new page. Just make sure you leave the problem module behind.

If that works and you have a new "Home2" page all working fine, then delete the original homepage via the Admin, Pages menu. Then you can rename Home2 to your desired name and set it as the homepage in Admin, Site Settings.

Or perhaps someone has a simpler solution still

Rob

p.s. back up everything in case you get into trouble.

Dear Robox,

I tried the way which you explained. I created a new home page without 'user account' module by using 'Add Existing Module' option. I changed the home page option in Admin->Site Settings. When I go for my site, my new home page is displayed. Once I tried to login, it is redirected to 'Manage Profile' page. It is asking to 'update' or 'unregister'. Even after selecting the 'update' option, the page is not changing.

I have one more doubt which I suspect as the reason for my problem.

In Admin-->Security Roles-->User Settings, the 'Require a valid Profile for Login' check box is always selected. Even If I change it, it is not updating. I have seen the following comments at the top of the page.

"In this section you can review the membership provider's settings. Some providers may allow you to edit the settings. The default provider based on the ASP.NET MemberRole requires you to edit web.config, so the settings can not be updated here."

I am not a programmer. So that I dont know what to do. Is it the reason for my problem?

Please help me to sort out the problem.
