So I set up my site to Verified.

The use registers and an email is sent to them. The link in the email is like

http://www.mysite.com/default.aspx?ctl=Login&username=testuser&verificationcode=0-35

The issue is that when I click on that link it goes to the log in page (I have put the log in conrol on a separate empty page) but the log in does not contain the parameters (user name and verification code). So the user has to type his user name and passward, hit "login", get the error message "type your verification code", then retype user name and password + verification code........not very cool at all!!

Is there something I can do to not make lifes complicated for my new users?

Thanks.

Ivan

I'm seeing the same problem! I've tried it via the URL and such but it doesn't seem to work properly. I'll keep looking at it and hopefully figure something out. I'll post what I know.

Ok I figured it out...

In DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/[dnn]/Login.ascx add this around line 17

<

tr id="rowVerification1" runat="server" visible="false">

<td class="SubHead" align="left" style="width: 220px"><asp:Label ID="Verification" runat="server" Text="Verification Code:"></asp:Label></td>

<td class="SubHead" align="left" style="width: 220px"><asp:textbox id="txtVerification" columns="9" width="150" cssclass="NormalTextBox" runat="server" /></td></tr>

I also have the same problem, and I wish I knew a good solution for it. I'm using DNN 4.5.5.

The email message sent out to the new users after registration is found in (Host or Admin) --> Languages --> Language Editor. It can be found in the "Resource Name: EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_VERIFIED_BODY.Text" field.

The URL is formed with this text: "http://[Portal:URL]/default.aspx?ctl=Login&username=[Custom:0]&verificationcode=[User:VerificationCode]"

I've tried changing the "http" to "https and I've tried changing the "http://[Portal:URL]/default.aspx" token to the actual (hard-coded) url of my portal's login page. Neither have worked...

Would love to find a solution.

I am encountering the same issue as the original poster on a DNN 4.4.1 site.  I don't want to edit the login control because I only want the verification code field to show when supplied in the url.  It originally worked properly and I am not sure what changed to cause this.  If anyone knows of a setting or fix, it would be really appreciated!
