I get the following error when I try to add an event:

Error: Edit Event is currently unavailable.

This feature used to work at some point in the past.

I think this has been fixed in Events version 3.3.8. It's due to the wrong type of quotes for the runat attribute in the EditEvents.ascx file (`` instead of ''), that were accepted by  the ASP.NET runtime engine in the past, but MS turned that careless behaviour off in one of the past security updates.

I upgraded to the newest Events module, but I'm still getting the same error.

I cannot find the thread any more where this error was described a few months ago, but if I remember it right, these wrong quotes weren't in the EditEvents.ascx itself, but in one of the core components it used, so the error occurred in some other modules as well. But I'm sure that this bug has been fixed, as I don't get it. I guess that you run an older version of DNN, so I recommend to upgrade to DNN 4.7.0.

Huh, Windows Update actually caused this problem.  Answer here:  http://www.codeflakes.net/blog/post/Windows-update-causes-DotNetNuke-to-fail.aspx

I changed that file and can add events again.
