I am using DNN for my guild website http://distantbeliefs.wowguildsonline.com, and overall things worked great.  However, as of the last month, whenever I do anything I am getting the error:

An error has occurred.
Error: Add/Edit Post is currently unavailable.

Some examples are when a new forum post is added, a role is modified for a person, etc.  Please note that although I am getting the error, the task does complete.  For example, the forum post WAS added successfully, and the role was modified successfully.  The problem is, when someone uses the site and sees the error, they do it again, and then we get dups everywhere.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?  It is driving us nuts!

Thanks!

Bob

Robax offered a solution that worked for him here ...might work for you. Lots of us sent email on this issue and created a number of posts, but no official recognition of the problem that plagued many of us even here on the mothership. You are not alone, sir.

This is not just something that is happening with forums though as Robax's solution indicated.  It is happening all over the place.

It's happening here, too...on the DNN mothership.

The gemini ticket is here: http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=6732&PROJID=23

I think the biggest failing of the core team is the usual complete lack of communication. There are people in the team with endless thousands of posts yet no one can manage to put a notice at the top of the forum page stating the issue/s that the half a million registered users might be facing. In this framework obsessed group there obviously is no framework for that. Please excuse the rant, but I'm going to point this out for another three years if I have to.

My real advice about the forum module.. if you have a business to run or you just want it to work, get Active Forums. I waited one year for the core forum to work well, then I jumped ship and bought AF and have been happy with that for the following two years (apart from a serious drama recently with activation - something that I feel is fast becoming a major risk and potential nightmare for site producers like me).

beh.. listen to me... I must have got up on the wrong side today ;P
