Hello there..

I did some developement with asp.net 2.0 in vs 2005. So naturally when i saw the latest version of dnn, i loved it. However, on build I'm getting some errors after installing store modules from the page itself.

This is the output from build that failed:

Building directory '/DNNZRNO/DesktopModules/Store/'.

\DesktopModules\Store\AddressEdit.ascx(3): Build (web): Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.AddressEdit'.

Error 1 Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.AddressEdit'. ...\DesktopModules\Store\AddressEdit.ascx (line) 3

Line code is

<%

@ Control Language="c#" AutoEventWireup="True" Codebehind="AddressEdit.ascx.cs" Inherits="DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.AddressEdit" targetSchema="http://schemas.microsoft.com/intellisense/ie5" %>

It makes no sense, throwing off by saying that the Codebehind file, namely "AdressEdit.ascx.cs" doesent exist, well I looked in the code, it's not there for sure. Where the hell is it? anybody know, it seems trivial for this to be throwing me off. but it is what it is.

Thanks for help and understanding

.cs & .vb files would only be included in the source distribution of the module, so that may explain why it's not there. That said, you don't need these code-behind files if all you want to do is install them (and not debug/modify them). When you say you installed "from the page itself", do you mean that you installed from the Host-->Module Definitions page?

Maybe try uninstalling the module completely and reinstalling.

Hey

To answer your question, yes, i installed module from host. I guess deleting it and reinstaling might fix the problem. So i see now, my secon question is answered, I used starter kit to install the dnn first and that removes all the cs and vb files, in other words, I should be able to modify anything i want from host, not touching the code files... that concept is little alien to me, but i like it.

I'll let you know what i came up with.

Thanks

I've the same problem (or seems the same problem).

- I've Visual Studio 2005 and DNN 4.8.3.

It runs OK calling from Internet Explorer (for example  http://localhost/Portal/Default.aspx), but when i open the website from Visual Studio and "Start Debugging" i get the error:

No se pudo cargar el tipo "DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.AddressEdit"  (Can't load type)

I'm extending DNN with a personal developed module... and i need to test it.

If i uninstall Store Module the problem disapears, but if i try to reinstall (install distribution or source distribution) the problem reappears.

Could any one help me?

Thanks!!!

Ramon Garcia
