version 04.00.00 was released just prior to dnn 4.8.0, and included in that release. You can download the install package from the dnn downloads page, and just install it. Mind you: due to a complete overhaul of the templating engine, chances are the module will "complain" about a missing [EDIT] token in your template. This message will only be visible to module editors... You will need to modify your templates to include the [EDIT] token...

I tried to install Announcements 4.00.00, but it complained because hosting provider is using DNN 4.03.00 , so I'm not sure if upgrade is possible.

I have FTP access, can I do a 'manual' upgrade by dumping binaries into location?

Ta,

Pat.

sorry, that is not possible. The 04.00.00 release of the announcements module needs DNN 4.6.2, as it uses functionality that is only available from dnn 4.6.2

Hi Erik,

Just to clarrify, do you think it is likely that the [URL] token is broken is it appears here : http://gtsfreight.apexhost.net.au/News/NewsTest/tabid/83/Default.aspx

or could it be the manner in which I am using it? I just don't want to go through all this trouble and find it is not the module.

Regards,

Pat.

Pat, are you using the latest version of the module (that would be version 04.00.00). I know the URL token works in 04.00.00. it might just be it doesnt work in 03.04.00...

Oops.. forgot to read the complete thread. Yes, you seem to be using the token correctly, but again, please try to upgrade to the latest version (you would have to ask your host to upgrade to a newer version though)

I am affraid you are stuck with the [MORE] token...
