Hello everybody,

I have DotNetNuke installed in my local machine. I've created a site and I have published it in a remote server.

Now I've to create a new site, which is no related with the site I've published. Do I need another installation of DotNetNuke and a new database?

Thanks.

That's a pretty open ended question. You could answer yes and no.

My personal recommendation is that if you're setting up a site for a totally unrelated client to the original site that you setup a new instance of DNN with a new database.

New problem.

I'm trying to do a new dotnetnuke installation (as Chris suggest me). Because the folder C:\DotNetNuke_2 already exists, I've created the folder C:\DotNetNuke_MP and I've extract here the sources of DNN 8.0. I've created the virtual directory, I've created a database named DotNetNuke_MP, I've renamed release.config in web.config and I have correct the connection string in web.config.

My problem is: if I open C:\DotnetNuke_MP\DotNetNuke.sln, the solution opened by Visual Studio is not the solution contained in DotnetNuke_MP, but the solution contained in DotNetNuke_2.

Why?? Where is the error??

Please help!

Thanks.

I have succesfully completed the installation of my second instance of DotNetNuke typing http:\\localyhost\dotnetnuke_mp in my browser and following the install wizard. It seems that everything's OK.

But I still have the same problem: if I open C:\DotnetNuke_MP\DotNetNuke.sln, the solution opened by Visual Studio is that contained in C:\DotNetNuke_2

Chris, could you help me please?

You never had this problem?
