Most of the changes are getting ready for VS2008/IIS 7. So if your not running on those environments there isnt a lot for you.

The only other changes are bugs fixes.

if you read the list you will see most are bug fixes, some enhancements and the vs changes...        at least say what is accurate

what you are looking for is actual release notes...

So has 4.8 been compiled with VS 2008 (.net 3.5)? Have been itching to use some of the new things like LINQ and ListView in some modules.

As mentioned above, the release appears to containe a fair number of performance enhancements, including a few to the CBO object, which might be something helpful to many users.

Otherwise there appears to be additional changes to get it ready for VS 2008 and IIS 7.  I'll have to give it a go on IIS 7 sometime this weekend...

It is interesting to note that there is a difference in opinion as to what is in 4.8 from "only install if you are using IIS7/VS2K8" to a "performance boost which will benefit all". This proves my point that there should be a consistent storyline from the DNN Core Team as to the significance of each release.

For me if it is just IIS7/VS2K8 then I will wait. However if there is general performance enhancements then it could seriously be worthwhile since performance is one of my major concerns with DNN.

So please........ core team.... some better and more consistent communications.... which will help us make better decisions. We cannot upgrade all the time for the sake of it ....

Thanks,

Sam
