I have a complete backup of sql database, and the entire folder of dnn, also.

I want to install on my pc an alias of the remote site. I have installed sql server 2005  and restored the database; i have also set up iis and permissions.

But, when i launch localhost\[virtualdirectory] , it  goes  to the original site !!!! I also change strings connection to database, but i think that there are some changes to make in default.aspx or similar.

You can help me, please ???

Thanks in advance.

Great !! It seems works !

But it is not perfect ! When local site start, it does'nt load  picture (.jpg, ecc.) and also top pane menu; I try to restart application, but dnn go in error: "Access to the path 'C:\xxxx\web.config' is denied."

Why ? Some Ideas ?

Bye !!!

access to web.config is granted,now; it is necessary set the ASPNET permission on folder (in windows explorer).

Also, dnn load top pane menu: I think that I have a little refresh problem;

Now, I only problems with load images, and i see where is an error: dnn search image in this path: http://localhost/Portals/0/avatar%20users/xxxxxxxx.jpg instead of

http://localhost/virtualdirectory/Portals/0/avatar%20users/xxxxxxxx.jpg,  where "virtualdirectory" is the name that I assign to local site by using IIS 5.1

how can I change this path ?

Bye.
