Gertraud,

this happens most likely either due to too many items in schediler log (table schedulerHistory) or due to too frequent execution of a job, starting, before previous execution has finished.

thanks gertraud for your response. today, i shut down all the schedule tasks and observing some improvement.

are you suggesting that we truncate the ScheduleHistory table? i only have 61 rows in the table - i am assuming that's not much..

how can we ensure that job doesn't get executed too frequently or before previous execution has finished?

cheers

abhishek

The reason of the problem seems to have been the scheduler history. I deleted all items in the table schedulerhistory (190 entries, the setting was to retain 60), and then activated the scheduler service. It started its jobs and worked. No more cpu loads of 100% ! Looks like it was unable to purge the 190 entries in the history (that job is activated) and tried it again and again.

Thank you for the quick answer Sebastian!

Deleting the schedulehistory is not solving any problems for me, The users online and schedule history tasks are being run correctly, but the filesystem synchronization and searchengine sync are getting in a loop like described in http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?ID=7014&PROJID=2

Is there any workaround or dirty fix for this problem or do you advice to rollback to dnn version 4.7? Thanks
