There were changes to the core so that it would work with IIS 7.0 "Integrated Pipeline" and the changes didn't play nicely with the Active Directory Provider. If you don't plan on using the provider then you just need to comment out the last under in your web.config. If you do then visit the AD Forum for information on getting a beta of the provider that fixes the problem. More information can be found in my blog and in the AD Provider forum.



FYI - Same thing in 4.9 on Vista for Dev bed; commenting out the AD provider stopped it, but left the site sans portal (it choked during the install wizard).  A delete of the dev db allowed a "re-wizard".
