In my module I use editURL to change the displayed control. When this happens, the skin and containers resort to the default. Is this by design? If so how would we set the skin? Or if not, How do we ensure the skin settings remain intact?

By changing the display with ctl= you're getting the ADMIN skin

Thank you Chris,

So I changed the Admin skin for the time being.

but is there a standard adopted method for working with multiple controls? I seen several different methods but do not understand the pros and cons of each.

the two that come readuly to mind are;

  • Using multipe views within one control.
  • Using different controls but using the 'Key' value to differentaite within the module. (as in the case here)

I chose the different control because it is simply easier to work the controls in a module fashion. However I find these 'issues' in implementation indicative of a design method that I am probably unaware of.

can anyone speak to the original intent of how we should do this?
