I try to transfer my site from remote to localhost:

1) I have changed PortalAlias in sql database from www.yyyyyy.com into "localhost/xxxxx"

2) I change connettion strings and set virtual directory on iis into "localhost/xxxx"

Site works fine, but all images, loaded into remote site by fck editor, now don't work!

Image path on html document is correct (image src="/Portals/0/various.gif") , but complete path results "localhost/portals/0/various.gif" and not "localhost/xxxxx/portals/0/various.gif" !!!

Why doesn't appear  complete path ???

Can you help me ?

Bye !

The path in the Text/HTML is a relative path, DNN isn't putting the alias in there. One fix is to use the Engage: F3 module (free from www.engagemodules.com) to search/replace all instances of "/Portals/#" in your Text/HTML modules with "xxxx/Portals/#"

If you use Windows XP Pro on your development machine, you have the problem that the IIS 5 only allows one web site, so you have to use a virtual directory for your DNN installation. Whenever you create a link in a DNN portal, the name of that virtual directory is of course included in the relative path.

I just read about an interesting way to avoid that problem right from the beginning. It's possible to bypass the limitaions of the IIS 5 MMC console and to create multiple real websites. See this post here on the DNN config forum: "Multople Parent Portals On XP"

Hope that helps!

I also have a free replacement tool available that can help you replace the links. http://www.mitchelsellers.com/ToolsUtilities/DNNTextHTMLReplacementTool/tabid/268/Default.aspx
