Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to create a custom role that is similar to Admin and has some Admin functions, but is somewhat more restrictive. For example, I want them to be able to administrate the Newsletter or the Forum, but NOT create users of the same role or change the site settings. Is there a way to do this, and if so, what sorts of changes or customizations would I need to make?

Thanks

try TRTControlPane module available free it should allow you to configure a special user role to do this. Allows you to totally lock down each of the admin functions etc.

Oh well that's encouraging. :) Is there any tentative release schedule for DNN5?

Hi John, I did some searching for the module you mention, TRTControlPane, and can't seem to find it.  If you somehow get alerted to this post :), could you provide the link to the module?

And if someone can answer when the release of DNN 5.0 that will address this, I would appreciate that as well!  I checked the news & annoucements section, and I know I'm visually challenged with my coke bottle contact lenses, but I'm missing it.

Thanks!
