I upgraded to 4.8.0 and I was using the Active Directory provider, guess what site was not accessible. I since then after searching the forums have found the beta release of the AD provider. I installed the Beta release and guess what the site was back up but all my Telerik Controls where not skinning properly and I had to set the UseEmbeddedScripts="False", copy all control scripts locally and set the radcontrolsdir to that location to fix them.

I am still getting a script error 'Sys' is undefined which I have seen other post reporting this error. I debugged the code and it is referencing the Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager (See Below). Is it possible this release effected the built-in HttpHandler WebResource.axd? I see there were references added to the web.config for IE 7 which I am using.

As always any help would be greatly appreciated

script type="text/javascript">

//<![CDATA[

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager._initialize(

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance()._updateControls([], [], [], 90);

'ScriptManager', document.getElementById('Form'));

//]]>

The changes were made to support IIS7 (not IE7).

Here is another issue which took me about 6 hours to figure out....in the 4.8.0 source package there is VS2008 and VS2005 Solution. The VS2008 web.config file is incorrect. I copied the one from the VS2005 directoy and it worked...

tolga - are you sure you found a web.config with the source version. Typically there is just a release.config or development.config that comes with the source version. If you attempt to make any changes in IIS 7 it will automatically create a web.config for you if it doesn't find one and could this be maybe what happened in your case?

I use the source version extensively and did not come across any web.config file in it - AFAIK the different solution files being in there is provided so that you can open the solution using VS 2005 or VS2008. It shouldn't prevent you from running the site due to an incorrect web.config file...
