Is there any easy way to restrict user login by IP address or do I need to write a custom module around the existing login page?

Scenario: Using DNN as public commercial website but only employees will need to log in to update content, there is no "end-user" sign-up requirement.  Therefore I would like to restrict login page to the business' static IP address that they use to further enhance security.

Thanks in advance,

Steve.

I'm a beginner on DNN but:

Perhaps you could create a custom page with a login component, and add some code on event of this page. I think you can filter IPs with this.

Or using HTTP filter, like PageBlaster (who have IP address blocking functionnality).

I don't know if this will work fine...

Steve,

This is not something that is supported by default, the best method would be to simply create a custom login module that did your desired filtering.  It really  would only be about 1-2 hours of time to build completely.

If you need any assistance if you decide to go this route send me an email and I mgiht be able to help out as I have developed many custom login pages for clients in the past.  mitchel.sellers@gmail.com is my e-mail address.

Thanks for your reply Mitch, I thought that would be the answer but just wanted to check.

Aggree it's probably not much effort to make my own custom one so I'll have a go at that.

Thanks for the offer of help.

Steve.
