I'm also on 1and1 with a shared MS hosting account and I get the exact same error.  Anyone find a fix for this yet ..?

This is not an issue with 1&1 as I am not using 1&1 yet receiving the same problem trying to upgrade to 4.8....

I'm also on another hosting. Trying to do a fresh install and get the same error.

Like the first poster said, the dot between user and database object seems to be missing.

Any suggestions?

anyone solve this? I too am getting the same error...

Message: Cannot drop the procedure 'dbo.GetDatabaseVersion', because it does not exist in the system catalog.
