You sir are a ROCKSTAR!

That is great information. I did not know about the different folder types. Although, there is a lot of DNN stuff I don't know about.

If I may push your knowledge just a bit further. While the above solution will work great for many of the items I will be putting on the site, there will be a large set of documents that people would like to be able to send as a link to our clients, but have the clients be prompted for login when they try to access them, such as happens when accessing a restricted page with DNN. The above solution does not do this, it simply restricts access.

Do you know any way of accomplishing this goal?

Thank you again for your help.

While considering the original parameters you prescribed, I would suggest still going with this approach, and using a module to display the links on one of your pages.  However, in the Page Settings for that page, uncheck "All Users" for "View Page" permissions.  Instead check the role called "Authenticated Users", or the appropriate role(s) that you have created for this.

Yep.  As HisMightiness says, a Repository with the module set for access by Authenticated users would do it.  Or the entire page can require Authentication.

An alterantive is to set up FTP and go outside of DNN, but that's not as easy on users, or use AD authentication and Windows accounts, securing the folder where the files reside.  Again, maybe more secure but less easy to manage.
