I've been keeping an eye out for that < example > tag you mentioned and still havent come across any such thing.  I'm starting to wonder if we've been majorly overthinking this and if you're just looking for the good ol' comment tags like this in red.

(if this is what you're looking for, and for lack of some readiblity above, it's: open carrot, exclamation point, dash, dash, space, text, space, dash, dash, close carrot)

If this doesn't help, I'll be curious to know if you've come across what you've been looking for, or at least what else you've tried.

I personally use a HTML colorizer tool to convert and style my HTML for display.  It then displays with proper spacing etc.
