I've looked all over for a solution to this error on these forums:  Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...FAILURE 400 - Thread was being aborted.

I've created a database on SQL Server 2005, and my IIS service is local on Windows XP.  All permissions are set up correctly, and have been tested when going through the installation wizard.  What is this error and how can I get around it?  I did check the database, it does look like all the database objects were being created from what I can tell.  I'm attempting to install 4.06..... any ideas?

I'm getting the same error, but on a Win 2003 std.

I'm trying to install 4.08

Please check this post. I haven't tried it out myself yet, because it's not something you just do - change collation on the SQL Server...

Thanks raly76.......

I'll have to talk with my web host provider as I am using their shared SQL server environment.  Not sure what kind of implications this will have on other users of the server.

Did you change the collation on this?  What did you change it to?  Its not really clear on what it should be.  I'll try and change it just on the database and not the whole server.
