I am building a site that will have over a hundred portals, each one will have a seperate group of users not tied to any other portal. I want to use the OnyakTech support mod on my main site to handle any questions from the portals. Instead of having my users register twice, I was going to invest in a multi portal registration mod.

I would think this functionality will eventually be apart of the DNN core. Is  it wise to  build a mod into your site that  may be obsolete one day?

Thanks,

Sean

Some day cars may be obsolete and the government may provide all transportation needs.  Do you still think it wise to own a car?  If you want functionality now, provide it.  If you can wait for it with no detriment, even with no definite time frame for it to happen automatically, wait for this to become part of the core.  If ever.
