I just updated to 4.8 and since then I have been getting reports of downloads being 'reset by peer'. It is usually on downloads > 10MB or so.

I have modified my web.config with this:

But it deson't seem to be helping. Is there anything else I can try?

<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="80960" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" executionTimeout="18000" />

Hi Nelson,

If you can get at the IIS logs take a look at \WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\HTTPERR. From what I've read it can hold some keys to your problem.

Hope this helps.

Where and how are they download files?  Direct links?  Documents Module?  Repository?

I have the exact same problem and am looking for a solution :(

I did not notice it with my previous host and assumed it was my new web hosting company but they said it was not the web server and was instead due to:

"you have configured your .NET app to handle requests to .zip files via scripts, and once .NET worker gets recycled, connection breaks."

As a test I am including a link to download a .zip file from my site that is moderately large (Nvidia 8800 video card driver, 44.6 megs) that kept failing when ever I would try to download it saying the connection had been reset.

If anyone has any ideas to try please let me know.  Thanks

One other thing to note, here are the exact error message received when trying to download using different web browsers.

When downoading from FireFox:

"filename.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

Here is the error received when trying to download using IE7:

"Internet Explorer cannot download ...filename.zip from www.team-synapse.com.
The connection with the server was reset"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
