I got the exact same error.

My DB was named the same as my website with the ending ".se". Once I created a new DB without the ".se" ending, everyting worked fine.

I am getting this same error. When I try and install this I am getting an error saying installation cannot complete.

Do I need to remove th initial installation first?

Thank

I know this is very late reply to the problem, but here is cause of issue.

I was upgradaing from DNN 2.1.2 to DNN 3.0.13, Becuase of some reason my upgrade got failure. When I try back I got given error.

In trying to solve this issue this is what I found.

There is a dnn.config file in Install folder. This is used to store current DNN version (this method is used at least till 3.2.2).

Just remove this file and call /Install/Install.aspx. Missing file will force Install.aspx to check DB version and have upgrade procedure executed.
