I have a silly question that I'm sure has been asked before, but I cannot find the answer.

When I upgrade my DNN, does everything on my site get wiped? Or does it keep all of the pages already up? I'm not talking about the files in my portal folder; I just mean the pages that I have already put on my site.

Thanks.

For some reason, at the time, I was thinking it said 4.08. Not sure why. But I really meant 4.7 to 4.8. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi,

Don't worry the content of your site won't get wiped.

The upgrade affects only the code, dll files and SQL server stuff (tables, stored procs etc...),  of the Dnn application. Not the content of the DNN sites.

Happy upgrading if you still need to! I would like to warn you to be carefull though, as I´m running into some instability stuff with DNN 4.8 myself....

Lotsoff 3005 events in my IIS log viewer....

Although nothing is lost when you upgrade, but you are always adviced to take a full backup of the database and files before attempting to upgrade.

I second the advice to do a full backup first. Afterwards you can follow e.g. this checklist to perform the upgrade: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/186/Default.aspx
