ok, I reread your post - do you use the same user name and password for all sites admins? in this case there is only one user record with a single email address.

Paul,

create different admin users per portal with individual usernames.

Its ongoing!

I have deleted my other three portals and started again.  Now I have different usernames and email address for the other three portals and this seemed to work.  All portals have a different admin account.  However, now my main portal has the admin account of the last portal I set up.  When I go to change this it throws an error, stateing that :the email address must be unquie.  I have tried about 20 different email address all of which have never been used before.

I am certain that

So in summary I have 4 portals.  The main portal has the old admin account of my 4th portal and cannot be changed.  The other three portals are fine all have new admin accounts and can be changed. The main portal is stuck with the wrong admin account, so when I get a new user regisration the email delivered comes from the wrong email address.

Oh dear - I wish someone could replicate this

I think I need to get into the database and delete the admin account for my main portal.  But of course I am not going to

Thanks
