Hey core team -

Remember the skinning contest from a few years back? www.dotnetnuke.com/contest How about reviving that again this year? It would be neat to see how far the skinning community has come in that time. You could have special categories like: pure css, silverlight, xhtml compliance etc.. Or perhpas a "redesign the default skin" contest. Watching the contest a few years ago was a lot of fun (and hopefully it would get Tyler Fawcett out of DNN retirement to defend his title). Perhaps a marketplace gift certificate as a prize?

I certainly don't have any say in getting an official DotNetNuke contest underway, but if one does start up -- I know a certain someone who would rock the competition

I think this is a great idea and I can't wait to see some new skins.  In the meantime, could we entertain ourselves by voting on the existing commercially available or free skins?

It's amazing how the skinning community has flourished since that first contest. I'm sure we would see some great designs from individuals and dnn based companies. Hopefully, the winner(s) would give the skin to the public, much like the last winner did.

I know, there are ideas for a new Skinning Contest, but atm I am not sure that we have the necessary resouces available, as there is some management effort needed and support of site admins.
