Sebastian,

Perhaps the effort can be DotNetNuke sponsored but administered by volunteers from the community? That would offload the work from the core team to those in the community who are willing to help.  I would certainly be interested in helping, I'm sure we could find some other individuals that would like to help. I do recognize, however, that often volunteers can be overwhelmed with other responsibilities or just be irresponsible and not follow through with their commitments.........but still yet, this may be something to consider.

Take care,

Ian

Ian, thank you for your offer, which is very much appreciated. But we will still need to put some load on current bottleneck resources, i.e. we need to find an option to get this solved first.

Cheers from Germany,

I second the motion for a new contest.  I too often refer to the skins in the Contest v1 site (not being a designer myself).

I would also recommend to specify in the rules that the authors of the skins relinquish the copyrights for the skins they enter in the contest.  I know, it takes a lot of effort to do a cool skin, but if it is specified from the beginning there should be no problem.  Many designers would be happy to see their work used in many sites and would be great PR for them.

If there is enough interest and the DNN core doesn't want to do this.  I can make this the first action for my new DotNetNukePlanet.com website.

If you are interested in participating, send me a message.  If there is enough demand, I'll get something in the works within the next few weeks.
