I was wondering if I can make something like this. I have 1 site but 3 domain names for it, is it possible  that then user comes entering domain name 1 he will see skin1, when entering domain name2 he will see skin2 and so on ? please if you know how to do it let me know  it will be a great help for me!

Hi Julia,

I would duplicate main portal into two child portals (with Portal Templates + content included) Then i would assign new skin and domain to child portals.  So when user navigates to domain1 he sees skin1 with same content. If he navigates to domain2 he sees skin2 with same content.

you can also make this possible for pages in same portal. You can set skin in page level. If you move common layouts into skin.css it will help better way.

Note that; i am not a skinning master, its better to see other replies too :)

well thanks for the answer... I know that I can make 3 different portals and apply 3 different skins to them but then it is more difficult to make changes... I will have to add / change content 3 times as well.... I was hoping that there is another way....

Julia,

AFAIR John Mitchell has some examples, how to adopt skins due to site parameters, I can think of using same skin with different .css and image files.

mm you could make a skinobject that reads out domain name and then returns it to page as

[div id ="domainname1"]

then in you skin.css you can define everything as #domainname1 body {}
