I set the container on the Events Module to not display, but stil it displays a container, on the list view and on the details page. I don't even see an option for different settings on the details pages, so it must be the same container.  How can I make the container display go away. I want my events information on a clean page.

Make sure that you switch to View mode (upper left corner of the Control Panel) or that you are logged out when checking this setting. As long as you're in Edit mode, the module containers are displayed anyway.

I understand about the view. And I've found I can adjust the styles in the module style sheet to make the list view borders disappear. But I can't find the styles that affect the details page view. I originally thought it was a container issue because it looks like a container, but in the list view, it was a table that simply looked like a container. So, I'm still looking. I have other issues, too, which I'll post in a new thread.

Which module version are you using? In version 3.3.8 there are two options to display the event details, selected with the Event Detail New Page checkbox in the module settings:

  • With the checkbox unchecked, the details are shown on the same page and in the same container as the calendar (which can cause layout problems if the calendar is very small).
  • With the checkbox checked, the details are shown on a new page that uses the portal's default admin skin. Unfortunately it's not possible to select another skin.

I'm not sure when this checkbox was introduced, in 3.3.7 or 3.3.8. Earlier versions displayed the details with option 2 only.

Hope that helps a bit!

That helped a bunch, in fact, I stumbled across that myself last night and now I'm happwith the display. I just have two issues left, both of which I'm thinking are going to require some customization:

  • I need for anonymous users to be able to register for events. Right now the registration link only shows up if a registered user is logged in.
  • I don't want the 'created by' entry to display at the bottom of the Events Details page. But, if I remove it from the page display, the entire module errors out.

Thanks,
