At one time, long, long ago - around DNN V1, or maybe even V2, there was a discussion module. What happened to it? If it has been scraped, does anyone know of another solution to it?

I'm looking for something similar to the discussion board at CodeProject.com ...

Thanks

I haven't seen the Discussions module, but I am about to release a Facebook Wall style module that you can add to a Group/Event or UserProfile to allow users to add comments/discussions (scroll down on the links to see the Walls). You can use it in the flat Facebook style (like I have done on PokerDIY), or you can have threaded topics (one level - topics and replies). It is fully templatable so you can define how it looks. It is not designed to replace the Forums module - it is for quick comments etc. under entity - I will evenutally add user ratings etc. - it may suit your needs?

Discussion module has been sunsetted due to limited usage and has been replaced by new Forums module.

That really is a bummer ... I actually used it in a couple of old sites back a couple years ago ...

Hello !

To demonstrate the use of LLBLGen Pro, Aricie chose to reinstate the module discussion, sunsetted by the Core team not long ago. This recovery Discussion module allows authorized users to exchange comments in a very simple way, and we like it. Although the module is very simple, it introduces the integration layer data access LLBLGen Pro in the model providers of DotNetNuke, which is for developers with a simple and concise example of this very interesting integration. End-users would easily install the module as any other DotNetNuke module. You can view a demo on this page, and as it's a free module with source, you can download it here (login required).

Enjoy this great module and feel free to discuss about this on our forum !

Cheers,

Aricie Team.
