Hi Folks,

We have about 4 DNN-Installations. Some on old Servers, some on Virtual MS-Servers and some on new High Performance-Systems. It seems to me as if the performance of these installations is rather weak.

What surprises me is that the newer Machines are not significantly faster..? I observed the CPU-utilization and memory consumption, but both are not heavily used.

We use Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 and MS SQL 2005 Express (Also tried with the "regular" Version, no difference).

There are just this little annoying few seconds of "lag" when opening a Page...

I tried playing around with the compression-Settings in DNN, but I didn't really find a solution...

Does anyone have an Idea what would possibly be the problem here?

Thank you very much,

With kind regards,

Michael Bosshard

the initial startap time takes longer due to .Net compiling on demand. The compile output gets cached until the application is unloaded, which is by default performed after 20 mins of inactivity. I suggest to configure app recycle of the IIS worker config according to your needs.

Yes, we noticed that too... But the Page is slow even if we keep using it.

The Connection-Speed can't be the Problem,too...  we use the servers in house (GBIT/100Mb).

What do you mean by "...app recycle of the IIS worker config according to your needs"?

Thanks Mr Leupold,

I know the issue with the startup-time. But even if we keen using the Site, the problem stays the same. The Connection-Speed can't be the problem, too (We use the Servers in house atm, 1Gb/s).

What do you mean by saying: "suggest to configure app recycle of the IIS worker config according to your needs"

Gruss,

Michael
