Just wondering if anyone knows an expected date for the next release? Is it still in the Issue Tracker?

I've read about the changes made in the next update, and they are extremely useful to me.

Is there a way to get a hold of the update without waiting for DNN to officially release it? Kinda like Mike H does with the AD Provider?

At this point in time I am not sure what the status is on the release of this module.

I have been trying to get an answer, but the rest of the project team doesn't know what is going on either.

Additionally since I am not the lead of the project I do not feel comfortable releasing the code for the current version to anyone since it has not passed the release process.

I greatly apologize that I do not have a better answer for you, but I can tell you that you know as much as I do, I have been trying to get updates on a regular basis.

As soon as I know something I will be sure to make a post here and let everyone know.

I've been using DNN for a while now to provide a functional and inexpensive website for a private owners association.  I love the concept of Open Source and fully support it.  Module like Documents and Gallery are essential for this type of website.  Unfortunately, it is answers like this to critical module updates that are making me lean more to a (unmentioned) purchased solution.

I really hate to be critical of a process that is supported purely by volunteerism which is so virtuous in a market driven economy. You can’t say enough about all those who contribute to this and similar endeavors.

Still, the core team needs to realize that to be a viable product, users of the product need to feel that their concerns are understood and that a real solution, which includes timelines, is in place and communicated back to the users.

I completely understand, I am trying to work with Scott W., the project team, and others to find out what the heck is going on with this project...

I will update everyone here as soon as I am able to find some more information.

Thanks in advance Mitch for anything you are able to tell us.  I've got a customer who specifically wants a feature mentioned in this update and I'd rather not reinvent the wheel and make the change myself if the updated documents module might be available shortly but if it won't be released soon then I'll have to do it to appease the customer.
