Hi :)
I just want to state my view on dynamic content in DNN. I'm not addressing this to the core-team, but more to the native english spoken who feel that dynamic content is a low priority project.

I understand why english spoken don't see the dynamic content element as important, but non-english users (and non-english spoken) are increasing every day all over the world. About 70% of web users speak a native language other than English, and many of them are not bilingual. When it comes to Americans, US Department of Health report that 37 million do not even speak English at home. Europe alone account for over 40% of the world's Internet users. Further on, with Asia covering 56% of the world population (and with a usage grow at 218% over 5 years), Europe covering 12% and North-America 5%, you can see that dynamic content IS one of the most important issues in DNN.

With these numbers in mind, Forrester Research concludes that site stickiness is doubled when a website is translated - visitors stay for twice as long. IDC reports that web users are up to four times more likely to purchase from a site that communicates in the customer's language. All in all, people seem to be more susceptible when a site address in the local language.

I may have overlooked a clear statement from the DNN team regarding the plans to focus on dynamic content. I'm not looking for dates or releases, but more a regenerated roadmap (note: Genisis roadmaps are without dates :)

With kind regards,
Steinar

the core team is already considering the best solution for content localization - but, as this is a volunteer project - i would not expect this to be implemented in the next version.
