Might be a stupid question but I would like a DNN using an Access - but I can't find the installation (only SQL/Express). Could someone point me in the right direction (or is the Access provider droped?)

mcro,

I believe the Microsoft Access data provider was discontinued with the release of DotNetNuke 3 (at least the distribution with the core). I have not seen any talk of this for quite a long time, which leads me to believe that it is no longer available.

Take care,

Ian

ok - thanks. I read about the Access provider in the FAQ (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Documentation/FrequentlyAskedQuestions/tabid/546/Default.aspx). I'll see if I can't find a MySql provider instead.

Thanks

there has been a MySQL provider on snowcovered, but AFAIK it is not up2date and be aware, that you will need a mysql dataprovider for any module you install. I suggest to use free MS SQL Express instead.
