Hello,

I am running 4.4.1 right now.  I'd like to upgrade to 4.8.0.  Do I simply copy the 4.8.0 files over the original files even though there were several versions in between the two?

As far as versions are concerned, yes, each upgrade step will be performed.

The file that needs updating manually (by you) is the web.config file. You need to transfer the pertinent attributes in your v4.4.1 web.config to the web.config of v4.8.0. Typical items to be mindful of include database connection info (2 entries!), installation date (if any), machine key validationKey & DecryptionKey, and possibly codeSubDirectories.

There are of course other items to transfer over to the new web.config if you have modules installed that have made their own amendments to the web.config when they were installed.

Pleasse backup your files and database before doing the upgrade so that you can roolback in case of errors.

Hope This Helps.
