I created a blank SQL Server 2005 database called DNN. I installed DNN and pointed it to this database. No problems. Everything worked. Now, I created a second SQL Server 2005 database called DNNMain. When I try to install a second DNN I get an error that object already exists. I gave the objects a different prefix to avoid name conflicts. Any insight would be much appreciated.

in a single DNN installation, all portals share a single database. For multiple DNN installation on the same server, you need to use a different database not same database with different objectQualifier.
