I am trying to creat a report for a custom module that I created.  I created the Data Provider and Controller in tha App_Code\MyModule folder.  However when I add a new report to my project I am not able to browse the Website Data Sources Pannel for my data fields.  According to microsofts documentation I should be able to see a list of fields that i can drag to design my report.  There is very little info on the net about this and I am wondering if i am the only one  having this problem.

The only thing that i see there is:

-Portal Template
   +description
   +settings
   +profiledefinitions
   +roles
   +tabs
   +folders

+ModuleDefinition
+ModuleDefinition
+ModuleDefinition
+ModuleDefinition

The only way around this is to create a Typed Dataset.  I would hate to bypass my business object.

You will have switch to the .ascx source view and enter the values manually. see:

Thanks for the link.  My problem is with the myreport.rdlc file, not aspx.  I need to create a report visually but my Business Object does not show in the data sources list.  I did follow your link and tried to add an ObjectDataSource object in my viewreport.ascx file just to see what happens.  My Business Object does not show there either.

Is there something extra that I need to do in order to expose my business object?

The .rdlc is not yor typed dataset it's your Report, right? Your report (.rdlc) will show up if it is in the same directory as the ReportViewer control that is trying to consume it using the select report drop down on the configure ReportViewer control options. Your typeed dataset (.xsd/.xss) will show up correctly when you are designing your report.

Sorry for the confusion, lets start from scratch and pretend that I was following this tutorial:
http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/DNN_Things4Sale/ThingsForSale3.htm

When I get to this step:

I should be able to choose my business object from that drop down list.  My problem is that it does not appear in the list at all.

This is related to my original problem because when I open a report.rdlc file in the designer my Business Controller should appear in the "Website Data Sources" pannel and I should be able to drag and drop fields on my report.
