Hi

I have been having a lot of troubles from m DNN hosting provider (ihostasp), and I need to move.  But before I continue I want to say is that the support staff with IHostasp.net have been very good its just that the service level hasnt been so good.  My site is down frequently and if its not down its extremly slow.

Anyway I am looking for more reliable hosting company, not to big becuase i want good support and not a three day wait.  Now I nearly signed up for powerDnn who really do look good until I noticed that there is a caveat with there service.  You can only send emails from the main domain.  So if you have several domain alaises running from 1 DNN installlation, all corospondance between DNN and the user will have to carry the main domain email address.

No good if you have two completly different sites.  i would not want www.mysite.com to send out registration emails from www.myothersite.com it wold totally confuse the user.

Any suggestions to good hosts.  I require multiple parent portals at no extra cost, unlimited domains and domain alaises and a generous SQL datbase allowance

Cheers

I have also been having trouble with iHostASP.NET. As you wrote, the support staff has been good, but my site is down too frequently. It may be that I have been somewhat spoiled by WebSecureStores. I've been lucky to have a high uptime with them. I can definitely recommend WebSecureStores, although I just signed up with 3Essentials.com due to their great pricing for 10 domains. I have about 5 domains with relatively light traffic, so I'm going to test them out.

Well first of all I am personally very happy with 3Essentials as many people know from my other posts here on the forums.

However, they do also have the limitation that if you domain is only an alias that the e-mail accounts all trickle down to the primary domain.  (The good news is that they do allow you to send and receive e-mails from a child portal e-mail, but they are just aliased mailboxes, just like the actual sites.)

Now, an option that would exist is to use a DIFFERENT provider for your e-mail than what you have for your domains....

Another alternative is Resellers Choice - see their 5 Domain pack:

Like Mitchell, I'm currently using 3Essentials; I switched from Reslllers Choice a couple years ago because of a Name Server issue. They've fixed that and I'm looking at returning.

I believe they allow each parent off a base instance to have its own mail server. Up to the 5, if you are using the 5 domain pack. You would want to check just to be sure; they have Live Chat - and really know DNN; better than 3 Essentials, although 3 Essentials gives good support.

I've been using dotnetpark for years and they are really good.  You can send and recieve emails from each domain you have.  I currently have a special offer for a double disk space upgrade for dotnetpark ... details here
