My business manager has requested that the front page of my DNN portal be customisable by a user at runtime. What he wants is something similar to IGoogle where a user can drag and drop the various web parts to different sections of the screen (along with the fade and shadow when moving the module - this is more of a nice to have than being important). This cusomised "desktop" will need to be stored at in an individuals profile so that it is always the same when they login

My question is can this be done in DNN?

At present I cannot see how I can achieve this.

FYI we are currently running DNN v4.1 but plan to upgrade to v4.8 shortly.

Look at their user customizable homepage.

At this time DNN does not support this web 2.0 style natively.  There may be a module that supports this but I haven't seen it.

Just what I thought.

I was also wondering whether there might be a module out there that might support this idea, but what on earth do you search on to find such a thing?

Anyone else there got any tips or suggestions?

Cheers,

Rich

If you login as admin to a page, you can drag and drop the modules all you like; however, there is no way to store individual settings for each user.

If each user has their own page, that might be possible.
