Followed instructions closely. The most recent error is this:

Got past permission errors. Copied the DotNetNuke.config file from the config folder to the root folder after error about not being able to find it. I'm using the DotNetNuke_04.08.00_Install.zip.

I'm an IT developer working mostly with Windows apps. DotNetNuke sure ain't for the faint of heart.

Did a little more searching for answers and that prompted testing my connection string. I could not connect. During database setup I had deleted and created a new database with a different name. The default database no longer matched and my userID could not signon.

What is it about DotNetNuke that a simple thing like "can't connect to the database" produces such a cryptic error?
