Just keep in mind that those controls only work as well as the aggregated forum... and on DNN 4.5.5 using forum module 4.4.3, expect to not have the aggregate forums update 90% of the time. I'm highly disappointed with not being able to allow these extra features to be available to my users.

There is no reason the Aggregated forum would not update immediately. I have always stated, the aggregated forum is not a per user forum and does not include 'private' forums. The same goes for the latest posts module.
