Hello,

I am seeing that everytime I delete a directory within the website the Applicaiton restarts.  To reproduce this I simply need to delete a directory that the application created.  I have a process that pulls images from the database and writes them to the file system.  When there are updates to those images I delete their parent folder and pull the updates from the database.  I see that deleting this folder causes the application to restart.

Reason :"The AppDomain shut down because of the hosting environment."

Aside from this being an undesireable result I think is sometimes hangs and I get a failure trying to write the new files.  This directory becomes locked and I must restart IIS to free it from the grips of something.  Only then can I run my process again to pull the new images from the database.  I've looked at my code and I am properly handing try/catch and closing all file streams.

Any ideas?

Thanks, JDrogin  (this is my first post to DNN forums, if there is a better forum to post please let me know)

I guess there would be a few questions here.

1.) Where exactly is this folder
2.) How are you deleting the files, are you sure that all references are closed?

I can't assist with this, but I can add that I also get hangs when I delete folders and the only way out is remoting to the server to kill and recycle the pool. This has really only started happening lately.. running 4.7

I seem to be able to delete a subfolder ok, but the next one up hangs until I've restarted and refreshed everything. Bit of a pain this.

Can you try turning off "Automatic Synchronize" in Host Settings and let me know if it works? I'm also testing it on DNN 4.8.0

I'm getting numerous application stops and restarts when the scheduler runs....is this somehow related?

Thanks

Jerry
