Looks like I might not have to do this afer all...  I worked with tech support and they moved my SQL database to their newest SQL server, and already I notice a HUGE difference in performance.

We are running dnn sql server express database (on a development server), and don't have any problems.

However, we are thinking about converting from sql server express to sql. As I thought it was not possible under the license agreement to run a sql express on a live server? Or perhaps that's only for commercial sites?

Are the steps the same for converting from sql express to sql ? (copying database files to sql and changing web config settings?)

Mark,

The steps should be the same (although reversed :) -- open Management Studio --> backup express database --> connect to "not express" server -> restore backup to "not express" server.

Not too sure about your licensing question though...
